A new LGBTQ-focused gaming showcase has been announced as part of Summer Game Fest, marking the first time the global event will host a dedicated stream celebrating queer developers and LGBTQ representation in video games.
The showcase, titled “Gayming Pride Parade,” was announced on 5 March 2026 by the Gayming Foundation. The event will highlight LGBTQ-led video games and developers during the annual summer gaming showcase.
A “Virtual Pride Parade” for Video Games
Organisers describe the showcase as a “virtual Pride parade” for gaming, with around ten LGBTQ-focused titles presented as parade “floats.” Each segment will feature trailers, developer interviews, and commentary highlighting queer talent working across the video game industry.
The broadcast will be hosted by award-winning streamer Milady Confetti, who said the event aims to celebrate LGBTQ creativity in gaming.
“Hosting the Gayming Pride Parade and getting to showcase queer games is my dream gig — it’s Pride, it’s games, and a full-on celebration of queer creativity.”
Developers are currently able to submit their games for consideration, with more titles and partners expected to be announced closer to the event.
Part of a Growing Movement in Gaming
The announcement reflects a broader trend within the gaming industry to highlight underrepresented creators and communities.
In recent years, events surrounding Summer Game Fest have included showcases focused on women-led studios, Latin American developers, and Black creators, as the industry attempts to highlight more diverse voices.
Industry groups say the Pride showcase is part of a wider effort to ensure LGBTQ developers and players are visible within gaming culture.
Robin Gray, Executive Director of the Gayming Foundation, said the event is especially important during a time when arts funding and support for LGBTQ initiatives has become more uncertain.
“Pride has always been about visibility, celebration, and community… it’s more important than ever to uplift queer voices and creativity.”
A Major Week for Gaming Announcements
The Pride showcase will take place during the week of Summer Game Fest, which is scheduled to run from 5–8 June 2026 in Los Angeles and online.
Summer Game Fest has become one of the gaming industry’s biggest announcement events since the decline of E3, with publishers and developers revealing upcoming games, trailers and gameplay footage to millions of viewers worldwide.
The Pride event will also kick off a broader week of LGBTQ-focused gaming celebrations, leading into the Gayming Awards, which recognise outstanding LGBTQ representation in video games and gaming culture.
Looking Ahead
While the full line-up of games has not yet been revealed, organisers say the showcase aims to highlight both independent studios and emerging developers creating games centred around queer stories and characters.
More details, including participating developers and trailers, are expected to be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
