All Games Announced PlayStation State of Play June 2026

Published on 3 June 2026 at 10:25

PlayStation did not just turn up with one trailer and a polite wave.

The June 2026 State of Play broadcast arrived swinging, packing more than an hour of reveals, release dates, horror, superheroes, survival games, remasters, sequels, and one enormous God of War surprise saved for the end.

For PS5 players, the message was loud and clear: the rest of 2026 is getting crowded fast, and 2027 is already starting to look dangerous.

From Marvel’s Wolverine finally showing its claws to God of War Laufey stepping out of Kratos’ shadow, here is every major game mentioned during the PlayStation State of Play broadcast, when each one is expected, and why players are already talking.

What Happened?

Sony’s June 2 State of Play delivered a packed PlayStation showcase featuring new trailers, release dates, gameplay reveals, and updates from studios around the world.

The broadcast opened with Marvel’s Wolverine and closed with the reveal of God of War Laufey, which immediately gave the show two huge headline moments. Between them came a rush of major names: Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Dune, Onimusha, Control, Rayman, Ace Combat, Until Dawn, Phantom Blade Zero, and more.

1. Marvel’s Wolverine — September 15, 2026

Marvel’s Wolverine was easily one of the biggest moments of the show.

Insomniac Games showed a brutal new look at Logan’s upcoming single-player adventure, leaning hard into violent combat, aggressive claw attacks, and a much darker tone than the studio’s Spider-Man games. The trailer also gave fans a better look at Team X, Jean Grey, and the mutant-hunting Reavers.

The hype is obvious. Wolverine has been sitting on many players’ most-wanted lists for years, and this State of Play finally made the game feel real rather than mythical.

Expected release: September 15, 2026.

2. God of War Laufey — Date TBC

PlayStation saved one of its biggest surprises for the finale: God of War Laufey.

Instead of another Kratos-led sequel, this new mainline chapter focuses on Laufey, also known as Faye, warrior, wife to Kratos, and mother of Atreus. The reveal frames death not as the end, but as the beginning of a new journey through the afterlife of the gods.

That is a massive shift for the franchise.

God of War has spent years exploring fatherhood, grief, rage, and legacy through Kratos. Now, Laufey looks set to give the series a new emotional centre, new combat possibilities, and a fresh angle on the mythology fans already care about.

Expected release: Coming to PS5, release date not yet confirmed.

3. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis — February 12, 2027

Lara Croft is officially heading back into ancient mystery territory with Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

The new trailer showed Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog returning to Lara’s roots, with iconic locations being rebuilt, familiar faces returning, and gameplay segments including the Peru Lost Valley.

This one has huge nostalgia power. Tomb Raider fans have been waiting for a new major Lara adventure that feels classic without feeling dated, and Legacy of Atlantis sounds like it is aiming directly at that balance.

Expected release: February 12, 2027.

4. Silent Hill: Townfall — September 24, 2026

Silent Hill: Townfall finally has a release date, and horror fans should probably start preparing themselves now.

The State of Play trailer introduced a new character, Zoe, and showed more of the terrifying world surrounding Simon, who appears to connect with her through a CRTV device. The trailer also teased a new creature stalking players through the darkness of the Otherworld.

Silent Hill is strongest when it feels strange, personal, and deeply uncomfortable. Townfall looks like it understands that perfectly.

Expected release: September 24, 2026.

5. Control Resonant — September 24, 2026

Remedy returned with Control Resonant, and yes, it looks every bit as strange as fans would hope.

The new story trailer showed a warped Manhattan consumed by paranatural forces, impossible architecture, monstrous entities, and Dylan pushing deeper into a world where reality clearly stopped playing by the rules. Jesse Faden is also set to return, which immediately gives fans of the first game a major reason to care.

Control built its reputation on weirdness, atmosphere, and mind-bending world design. Resonant looks ready to turn all of that up.

Expected release: September 24, 2026.

6. Dune: Awakening — September 22, 2026

Arrakis is coming to PS5.

Dune: Awakening, the open-world survival game set in Frank Herbert’s legendary sci-fi universe, is heading to PlayStation 5 with a definitive version that includes a brand-new single-player mode, a new chapter in its cinematic storyline, and more additions and improvements.

Survival games are already stressful. Survival on Arrakis, where the planet itself wants you dead, is something else entirely.

Expected release: September 22, 2026.

7. Onimusha: Way of the Sword — September 25, 2026

Capcom brought Onimusha: Way of the Sword back into the spotlight with a new trailer, a confirmed date, and a surprise demo.

The supernatural sword-fighting adventure launches on PS5 this September, while the demo is available now. Players can try around 30 minutes of the early story and experiment with essential techniques such as Parry, Deflect, Issen, Oni Armament, and soul absorption.

That is smart marketing. Instead of just asking players to believe the hype, Capcom is letting them feel it.

Expected release: September 25, 2026.

8. Phantom Blade Zero — October 29, 2026

Phantom Blade Zero remains one of the flashiest action RPGs on the PS5 calendar.

The State of Play appearance confirmed the game will launch on PS5 on October 29, while also revealing that it will get a dedicated State of Play later this summer. That suggests Sony and S-GAME know exactly how much attention this title is getting.

Fast-paced combat, stylish swordplay, and a dedicated future showcase? That is usually a sign that PlayStation expects this one to be a serious player.

Expected release: October 29, 2026.

9. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve — October 2, 2026

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is taking flight this October.

Bandai Namco’s aerial combat sim promises a thrilling campaign, new tactical manoeuvres, giant enemy aircraft, land-based ships, and 30 aircraft to pilot, including both real-world fighters and fictional models.

For fans of high-speed dogfighting, dramatic radio chatter, and ridiculous airborne spectacle, this is exactly the kind of announcement State of Play was made for.

Expected release: October 2, 2026.

10. Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered — October 1, 2026

Dynasty Warriors 3 is getting a modern revival.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered brings together Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends, giving long-time fans a sharper PS5 return to one of the series’ most nostalgic entries.

This is the kind of announcement that may not dominate mainstream headlines, but for classic Musou fans, it is a big deal. Sometimes players do not want subtle. Sometimes they want to cut through hundreds of enemies and call it therapy.

Expected release: October 1, 2026.

11. Rayman Legends Retold — October 1, 2026

Rayman is back, but not exactly how fans remember him.

Rayman Legends Retold is a 3D reimagining of the iconic multiplayer platformer, launching on PS5 this October. The new version includes fully voiced characters, an expanded soundtrack, new gameplay, returning levels, a mysterious new realm, four new musical stages, and up to four-player couch co-op.

This could be a huge family-friendly hit if Ubisoft gets the tone right. Rayman has always thrived on colour, chaos, charm, and weirdness. A proper return with modern energy could land beautifully.

Expected release: October 1, 2026.

12. Until Dawn 2 — 2027

Until Dawn 2 is officially happening.

The sequel is being developed by Firesprite Games and will be a standalone PS5 horror experience with a brand-new cast and setting. This time, a crew of ghost hunters travels to an abandoned tropical island for their TV network-funded debut episode.

That premise is already deliciously doomed.

The original Until Dawn became a cult favourite because of its branching decisions, horror-movie tone, and the feeling that one terrible choice could ruin everything. If the sequel captures that same pressure, it could become one of 2027’s biggest horror talking points.

Expected release: 2027.

13. The Lost Wild — 2027

The Lost Wild looks like one for horror fans who prefer being hunted rather than simply jumpscared.

This dinosaur survival horror game from Great Ape Games is launching on PS5 in 2027. The key idea is not fighting dinosaurs like movie monsters, but surviving around animals with instincts, behaviours, and their own place in the food chain.

That detail is what makes it exciting.

If the dinosaurs feel unpredictable and alive rather than scripted, The Lost Wild could become one of the most tense survival horror games on the horizon.

Expected release: 2027.

14. Kemuri — 2027

Kemuri is coming to PS5 in 2027 from Unseen, the Tokyo-based studio led by Ikumi Nakamura.

Set in Kemuri City, a chaotic world where life and death coexist, the game will let players explore a vertical city filled with rooftops, back alleys, hidden ruins, and supernatural threats. It can be played solo or in online co-op with up to two other players.

The hook is style.

Kemuri looks like it wants to be strange, fashionable, supernatural, and urban all at once. If it delivers on that personality, it could become one of PlayStation’s more distinctive 2027 releases.

Expected release: 2027.

15. No Rest for the Wicked — October 2026

No Rest for the Wicked is coming to PS5 this October.

From Moon Studios, the team behind Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, this action RPG features Souls-like combat, solo and co-op play, more than 100 hours of content, new bosses, new areas, new weapons, and a reimagined class system.

That is a serious amount of content.

The pitch is dark, brutal, and ambitious — and coming from a studio known for polished, emotional, visually stunning games, expectations are high.

Expected release: October 2026.

16. ILL — Date TBC

ILL brought pure nightmare fuel to the showcase.

The first-person action horror game showed off its grim story, unpredictable monsters, realistic physics, visceral dismemberment system, and relentless atmosphere. There is no confirmed release date yet, but the trailer made a strong impression.

This looks like one for horror players who want their games unpleasant in the best possible way.

Expected release: Not yet confirmed.

17. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls — Date TBC

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls also appeared with major roster news.

Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage have joined the game alongside Doctor Doom as part of the Knights of Doom, who will influence the game’s Episode Mode.

That is a strong villain line-up. Carnage alone brings chaos. Magneto brings power. Green Goblin brings madness. Doctor Doom brings ego. For Marvel fighting game fans, this roster is clearly starting to look dangerous.

Expected release: Not yet confirmed.

18. Bancho The Chef — Date TBC

Bancho The Chef may have been one of the stranger surprises of the show — and that is a compliment.

The game is a standalone prequel to Dave the Diver, mixing cooking sim energy with global-trotting RPG ideas. Players will build restaurant reputations around the world, learn culinary techniques, take on cooking requests, fish, pet cats, and apparently do a bit of everything.

It sounds weird, cosy, busy, and oddly addictive.

Expected release: Not yet confirmed.

19. Marathon — Season 2 Live Now, Open Play Week June 2–9

Bungie’s Marathon appeared with a live-service update rather than a traditional release announcement.

Season 2 is live now, and the Open Play Week runs from June 2 to June 9 with no PlayStation Plus membership required. That gives new players a chance to try the extraction shooter’s PvPvE battles and explore Tau Ceti IV.

This is a big moment for Bungie. Marathon needs to win people over, and opening the doors temporarily is a clear attempt to pull curious players into the fight.

Expected timing: Season 2 live now, Open Play Week June 2–9.

PlayStation Plus Also Got New Additions

State of Play also confirmed more PlayStation Plus news.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is coming to PS5 in the future as a day-one Game Catalog title. PlayStation Plus Premium members are also getting Gitaroo Man later this month, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy in July, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in August.

That gives the showcase a little extra value beyond future release hype. It is not just “wait for these games.” Some players are getting library additions soon.
